(Photo by Jeremy Belinfante) The latest album “No Life Left” by the Australian industrial ensemble, Schkeuditzer Kreuz, is now available on Bandcamp.

Schkeuditzer Kreuz, primarily described as “one human interfacing with machines to create resonating noise,” is the brainchild of Kieren Hills, an expatriate from New Zealand with a punk background. He currently resides in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. The album, releasing on 25th August 2023, features standout singles “Joy” and “Second Life”. It’s available in vinyl, cassette, and digital download versions. To promote the album, there are plans for a comprehensive tour, including an extensive 30-show stint across Europe and the UK.

This is the second full-length offering from Schkeuditzer Kreuz, succeeding their 2021 debut, “Isolated and Alone”.

Delving into the production nuances of “No Life Left”, Kieren shares, “Since ‘Isolated and Alone’, my understanding of recording has matured — grasping the transformation of sound, and realizing how to convey my internal auditory vision to an external audience. It’s essentially still me — orchestrating various machines and striking different metal objects. However, I’ve honed the craft to make the output grander and, in my perspective, superior.”

On his songwriting approach, he adds, “The actual composition process remains consistent. Inspirations strike me randomly, regardless of the hour. I relentlessly refine them until they resonate right. Typically, I don’t start with a predetermined direction. Once a track culminates, I often retrospectively ponder its origin.”
