Senior Client Partner
David H. Barnes is a Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s Princeton office and a member of the firm’s Global Consumer and Global Sports Practices.
Mr. Barnes brings to the Firm more than two decades of relevant experience in search and the consumer industry. He focuses on the recruitment of senior-level executives across general management, sales and marketing -- within Consumer goods and services as well as with Sports teams/leagues/governing bodies.
Mr. Barnes is committed to closely partnering with clients to address their needs, and has conducted hundreds of engagements, working with a diverse group of consumer-oriented companies, from start-up to Fortune 500, across a broad spectrum of consumer categories. His expertise extends into Sports, Outdoor/Lifestyle, Consumer Durables and traditional FMCG (food & beverage, household products, health & beauty, OTC.
Within Sports, Mr. Barnes has worked across commercial functions and general management for organizations like the NHL, PGA Tour, NLL, MLL, MLB, Green Bay Packers, USA Cycling, Ironman, NY City Football Club.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry in 2001, Mr. Barnes worked for two other international executive search firms. Before entering the executive search profession, Mr. Barnes worked in brand management at Johnson & Johnson, and in advertising account management at Leo Burnett. Early in his career, he worked as a boarding school teacher and coach at Choate Rosemary Hall.
Mr. Barnes has been a member of Bowdoin’s Alumni Interviewing Committee, an appointee to the Lawrenceville School’s Annual Fund Executive Committee, a volunteer firefighter and continues as an active club lacrosse player.
He holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College, where he was a two-time captain of the Men’s soccer team and an All-American lacrosse player.
