Mark is an experienced consultant, change maker, and thought leader focused on helping business respond to the opportunities and challenges from the sustainability crises.
His expertise includes creating innovative strategies, designing operating models and initiating transformational organizational change. He has led sustainability and circular economy projects across retail, consumer goods, manufacturing and financial services, including Mondelēz, The Warehouse Group, and Milliken and Co. He has worked with innovative sustainable start-ups such as Enso Tyres, Stuffstr, and NOTPLA, and in Colombia through the UK Government’s Programme for Accelerating Climate Transition (PACT).
Mark is a Senior Client Partner, and an adjunct member of faculty at Hult Ashridge Executive Education, having previously worked with PA Consulting and Barclays. He was a member of the UN Global Compact’s Technical Expert Group advising on their global strategy, and sat on the UK Network’s advisory group.
In recent years Mark has partnered with both the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the UN Global Compact to create and launch thought leadership to help businesses innovate and take practical action towards a more sustainable, circular, and regenerative future.
In 2013 he co-founded with Andrew Campbell the Designing Operating Model open programme at Ashridge Business School, and co-authored the Operating Model Canvas book. He lectures on the circular economy at Exeter Business School, TEDI (The Engineering and Design Institute) and Hyper Island in Sweden. He regularly speaks on the topic of sustainability and circular economy at conferences and panels, and has been quoted in the Financial Times, WIRED, fastcompany, Bloomberg, and S&P Platts.
Mark has a BA and MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
