Mr. Royal helps clients attract and retain talent, foster innovation, manage change more effectively, and enhance customer satisfaction and business performance. His particular areas of focus include relating employee engagement metrics to individual and organizational performance and structuring work environments to translate high levels of employee motivation into improved results.
Mr. Royal also plays a leading role in directing Korn Ferry's annual research with Fortune magazine to identify the World's Most Admired Companies and uncover the business practices that make these companies highly regarded and highly successful.
Mr. Royal's research has been published in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, The Journal of Compensation and Benefits, and The Journal of Organizational Excellence and also featured in Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, Human Resource Executive, and Workforce Management.
He co-authored the book The Enemy of Engagement, which gives managers new insights and tools for ensuring their teams are both willing and able to make maximum contributions.
Mr. Royal holds a doctorate of philosophy and a masters degree in sociology from Stanford University and a bachelors in sociology from Yale University.
