Ms Akan has a wealth of experience in Financial Services and Professional Advisory industries having served in senior management positions for almost 20 years at multinational firms. She possesses a keen understanding of the banking and insurance industry in Turkey and her clients, which range from medium-sized to major global firms, benefit greatly from her deep knowledge and expertise in the financial industry in Turkey.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Ms. Akan was a client partner with another international executive search firm responsible for Financial Services Industry and Professional Services Industry.

Previously she has worked in Liberty Mutual Turkey as Director and Executive Committee Member. Before her experience in insurance practice, she was a senior manager in Accenture leading business transformation projects, large-scale organizational transformation projects, leading program management and change management to mostly Financial Services industry (top retail banking and insurance clients) in Turkey, Greece and Hungary.

She started her career in Ernst&Young Istanbul office as an auditor.

She has a BA degree in Business Administration from the Bogazici University and has also participated in the Executive Programs of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

In addition to her native Turkish Ms Akan speaks fluent English.
